FridayVibes
Built by friends. Made for friends.
We build products that helppeople connect aroundthe things they love.
FridayVibes is an independent app studio building products that help people connect more meaningfully around the things they love.
We started the way a lot of good things do: five friends, a conversation, and an idea we wished already existed. By day we work across marketing, design, engineering, strategy, product, and creative. In the hours in between, FridayVibes is where we pursue the ideas that don't fit neatly anywhere else.
Our work sits at the intersection of fandom, community, and everyday habit — built for audiences who are passionate, already searching for better ways to share what they care about, and underserved by platforms optimized for scale over intimacy.
Our first product, WAZZON, launches in North America in September 2026.
Friday was neverjust the end of the week.
To us, Friday has never just been the end of the workweek. It's the moment the calendar opens up, conversations stretch a little longer, and people make time for the things they actually love.
The most durable apps are built the same way — not around content or commerce, but around people and what they genuinely care about.
Social platforms have become performance stages. Algorithmic feeds reward virality over real connection. So the most reliable recommendation anyone gets — a friend saying "you have to watch this" — still happens in a text, at dinner, or on a walk. It's never been captured. It's never been made useful.
We think that's the opportunity. And we're building toward it one product at a time.
why we build
For joy
We love building useful things. We just think they should also be genuinely fun — the kind that sparks a conversation, sends you down a rabbit hole, or becomes the first thing you want to share with a friend.
For fandom
People have always found each other through what they love. Sneakers, sci-fi, Formula 1, manga, coffee, film, music — shared enthusiasm is one of the most natural ways to form a real connection. We build for those moments.
For togetherness
The best technology doesn't replace real life, it enriches it. The conversations, traditions, and memories that follow are what we're really making. The app is just where it starts.
WAZZON
Your friends have better taste than algorithms
WAZZON is a social streaming discovery platform — it helps people decide what to watch by turning their friends' recommendations into something shared, organized, and actually usable, across every major streaming service.
It's a problem most people feel every time they open a streaming app: too many choices, too little trust in the algorithm — and the best signal, what your friends are watching and loving, scattered across texts, conversations, and memory. WAZZON captures that signal and makes it useful.

why this team
FridayVibes brings together five people with complementary backgrounds across marketing, design, engineering, product, and strategy. We've built brands, shipped products, and know what it takes to get things made.
We're the people opening a streaming app on a Friday night, texting friends for a recommendation, and wishing there were a better way. That's not a coincidence — it's where the idea came from, and it's what keeps us building.

Judy John is an experienced Global Creative Leader and CEO, with two decades spent building brands, teams, and ideas that shape culture; from Cannes Lions-winning campaigns to work recognized by the Emmys. She's led organizations as well as the work itself, and spent her career obsessed with one question: what makes people actually care? That obsession is exactly why WAZZON exists, because the best recommendation is still a friend saying "you have to watch this," and no algorithm has cracked that yet. She believes we're always just one good idea away from changing how people connect, and this is hers.

Taj Reid has always been curious about what makes an idea travel. Over the years, he's made work for some of the world's biggest brands, built creative teams and communities around the world, won Cannes Lions, and found a few unexpected ways to shape culture and bring people together. But the part he loves most is what happens after the work is out in the world. The conversations people have. The connections they make. The stories they tell later. FridayVibes grew out of that same curiosity, and a belief that technology can create more joy in the real world. It's a place to make simple, joyful things that give people a reason to do something together and make a new memory along the way.

From creating the Staples Easy Button to the first digital mapping of U.S. National Parks with Nature Valley, she's always had the most fun making things people can't help but want to play with. She now helps drive operations, investor strategy, and the data and monetization approach for WAZZON.

Alex Carr is a Product & Design leader with 18+ years spent building interactive products, creative teams, and digital experiences for brands like T-Mobile, Marriott, PepsiCo, and Domino's. Most recently, he was Chief Design Officer of a global design and content organization, and before that, a partner leading creative for digital transformation work. Across all of it, he's been chasing the same moment: when a product stops feeling like software and starts feeling like something you'd text a friend about. That's what WAZZON is built to do. He's a RISD alum and a guest critic at Maine College of Art and Design.

Rachel Starnes is a Design leader with 16+ years spent building teams, shaping digital products, and turning complex challenges into experiences people actually want to use. She's led a Design organization of more than 100 designers and partnered with Fortune 500 clients to shape and evolve products for some of the world's most recognized brands. What pulls her in is the earliest, most ambiguous stage of a problem, when the vision is still undefined and she can help craft what great looks like. WAZZON is that stage, aimed at something worth getting right: how people tell each other what's good.
We're raisinga pre-seed.
We're currently raising a pre-seed round to fund our open beta and September launch. If you'd like to learn more about WAZZON or FridayVibes, we'd welcome the conversation.
WAZZON's model is built to scale in phases, with revenue diversification from the start.
Grow the network
Organic and invite-led growth through watch groups and social sharing. Early revenue conversations with streaming platforms and publishers around audience access and co-marketing.
License the data
The long-term value driver. WAZZON is positioned to capture something streaming platforms and content studios can't generate internally: qualitative, consent-first data on how real people discover, discuss, and recommend content — what they loved, why they loved it, and who they told — made available through authorized, privacy-compliant partnerships.
Consent-first by design, not retrofitted — that distinction matters legally and commercially, and it's baked in from day one.
We are early. We know that. But we're building deliberately — with a clear roadmap, a consent-first data architecture, and a genuine belief that the best things get made when people are excited to see them exist.
